Commitment to the Environment
Sustainable and chemical-free apartments
Adjovimar, Apartments with pool and garden in La Palma, is a member of the La Palma Biosphere Reserve Tourism Products Club which includes, among other actions, the reduction of environmental impact and the effectiveness of responsible hotel management.
Since our creation, Adjovimar has used solar panels placed on the top floor of the building to heat the domestic water, which guarantee the use of hot water in kitchens and bathrooms.
This same heating system is used in the Pool heating which also uses a system for creating chlorine with salt, which is purchased in the Natural Salt Flats of Fuencaliente, thus achieving water free of chemicals that do not harm health and the environment.
We use photovoltaic panels, which has led to a significant reduction in energy consumption, which is essential for the recovery of the environment.
We also use flow reducers in shower taps, reducing water consumption by 40%.
In the laundry and cleaning system, products that do not harm the environment are used, using energy- and water-saving washing machines and using the sun to dry the clothes.
Natural air conditioning. Door systems are installed at the front of the building, as well as on one of the sides, that considerably reduce external noise and thanks to their constitution of glass and chambers between them, and with their hermetic closure, thus reducing the need for the use of heaters and fans.
Recycling bins. Different types of recycling containers are installed in our facilities with colour-coded indications for glass, plastics, cans and cartons, paper and cardboard, oil, and organic, which can be left in the different containers located on the street, in front of the building. All the organic matter generated by the garden is shredded and reused as compost and some is reused on Adjovimar land for vegetables and fruit trees . In our garden, behind the green shed, there are different compost deposits, to leave, if you wish, remains of vegetables, fruits and coffee grounds, which we will reuse in the garden soil.
